Hernando County WInding Waters K-8 Opening
August 1, 2011

THe lucky residents of Hernando County have a brand spanking new K-8 opening on August 200 for more than 700 students.  This is along side the Weeki Wachee High School that opened last year!  It is located right off RT 19, approximately 5 miles north of SR 50 in the Royal Highlands area of Weeki Wachee.

The new building is 265,000 Square feet with an indoor mall similar to two other Hernando K-8 schools, Explorr and Challenger.  There are 43 classrooms boasting nteractive white boards and ceiling mounted projectors.  The science labs are quite spectacular.

There will be about 30 ipad on hand to access material aand 30 percent of the media center's circulation will be in electronic form.  There's a video production room, a kiln in the art studio and of course, a state of the art playground.

There's also tennis and basketball courts, a baseball/softball diamond and a practice field.

How I wish I was young again!

Have a great day and enjoy!

We will always keep you posted.
